I then tried to return the gear and get a refund of part of my $400 on the morning of the fourth day but nobody responded despite my repeated efforts to contact someone at the store and at the store number. I finally got the 7m fixed on the third day but on the third day I ended up needing the 9m (because of less wind) and it again leaked air. ![]() By the time I realized this the store was closed and nobody responded again to calls or texts. That kite had a slow leak in the centre strut. I managed to get the kite to hold air and secured a second 7m kite the next day. I managed to make it back to shore without swimming and immediately tried to return it by calling or texting the store number during store hours on the first day as directed but nobody responded. I discovered this when I was far out in the surf and my kite started to become uncontrollable. On the first day the 9m kite I was rented was had an extra valve in the leading edge that leaked. However the gear was very unreliable and the poor store hours (10 to 1) and the owner's poor attention to his business meant I could never get a hold of anyone to remedy the situation. They charged me $400 for five days which was not unreasonable if the gear was good. I am an experienced kiter and did not bring my gear. I rented gear from this place to kite surf in Maui.
